Push-to-Talk Radio Interoperability
The Cisco IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS) Phone Client is an application that enables push-to-talk (PTT) functionality on select models of Cisco Unified IP Phones. It allows users to communicate over and monitor broadcasts of multiple communication channels. At the push of a single button on the phone, a user can easily communicate to other users monitoring that channel.
The Cisco IPICS Phone Client for Cisco Unified IP Phones extends communications of existing PTT radio or broadcast networks. Operational effectiveness is boosted by the increased ability of users to efficiently respond to incidents or emergencies by using the Cisco IPICS Phone Client.
The Cisco IPICS Phone Client is an integral component of Cisco IPICS, an intelligent resource management tool that controls media and information. It simplifies communications, improves response times, and enhances the functionality of existing investments for organizations. The Cisco IPICS Phone Client relies on the Cisco IPICS server to provide its configuration, updates/upgrades, management, authentication, and alert tone distribution information.
